Hong Chun Tan

M.Sc., BCBA, QBA

Hong Chun Tan is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) and a Qualified Behavior Analyst (QBA). He graduated with a M.Sc. in Applied Behavioural Analysis from the Bangor University, UK. Hong has over 9 years of international experience (UK and Dubai) in providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services across multiple settings such as schools, universities, organizations, and clinics.
Previously in the North Wales, UK, Hong worked as a Behavioural Researcher in Bangor University to provide behavioural services, such as organizational management, training, research, and development to support local organizations to deliver positive outcome.
Hong has been working with individuals with autism and profound multiple intellectual disabilities in the UK and Dubai. He provided ABA treatment with a focus on teaching communication and functional skills to people of determination. He worked closely with multiple special schools to implement ABA interventions in the North Wales, UK.
In Dubai, Hong provides ABA therapy treatments in autism/ABA clinics, case managing, trains and supervises therapists, and leads the ABA department along with multi-disciplinary teams. Furthermore, Hong expanded his experience in utilizing assessments - Promoting Emergence of Advanced Knowledge (PEAK) and Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), and has extensive experience in managing individuals with special needs with severe challenging behavior. Hong has a great passion towards teaching ABA and regularly trains clinical staff, parents, schools, organizations, and the general public. Determined to disseminate ABA to the masses, Hong is an avid content creator with his Facebook page/Youtube channel – “Behavior Switch”.
Hong presented his paper internationally in the Experimental Analysis of Behavior Group (EABG) conference 2015 and has co-authored journal articles - “Using task analysis to promote engagement in special educational settings”. He also presented at Malaysia’s first ABA international conference in 2019 on the topic of “How to Utilize Organizational Behavior Management (OBM) in Clinical Settings”.
Presently, Hong is working as an independent Behavior Consultant in UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia. Hong is also the Founding President of Malaysia Association of Behaviour Analysis (MABA) leading his team with the focus of establishing ABA standards in Malaysia.
